Having led the Red Cross on Isla Mujeres for many years and followed by a stint in the Middle East, she opened her clinic, Consultorio Medico Isleño, in 2017. Centrally located mid-island, her clinic welcomes patients from 9 am – 2 pm, Monday to Friday.

Whether you’re an expat living your beach life dream or a visitor soaking up the island charm, “Dra. Greta”, as she is lovingly known, extends her warm, thorough care to all. Her consultation fee is incredibly fair, and she offers extensive office visits and house/hotel calls, ensuring no one goes without the care they need.

Dr. Shorey’s dedication extends far beyond her clinic. Her tireless work providing low or no-cost care and essential medications to the families of Isla Mujeres is awe-inspiring. She maintains a ‘cookie-jar-fund’ in her clinic, graciously accepting donations to help those in need afford their medical requirements. And her impact hasn’t gone unnoticed. Dr. Shorey was named Woman of the Year by the municipality of Isla Mujeres, being the only foreigner to receive such an honor. The recognition is a testament to her devotion to the families of Isla, especially those with young children requiring medical assistance.
