On Isla Mujeres, we don’t just celebrate; we celebrate in style! The traditional Día de los Muertos is not just a two-day affair here, it’s a four, five or six night festival blending Mexican tradition, Mayan mystique, Catholic reverence, and a sprinkle of Halloween mischief.
The magic usually begins with the Arrival of the Souls street party on October 30th and ends with a show-stopping parade of Catrinas and Catrines on November 2nd. Each night of the festival Isla pays tribute to the many Day of the Dead traditions of Mexico with dance and music performances from both visiting artists and Isla’s own children, teens, and adults.
Whether dressed in the night’s theme of Yucatan finery and classic Catrina face or rocking a witch’s hat on the 31st, it’s all about having a blast and honoring those who’ve danced ahead to the big party in the sky.
Join us as we celebrate life, love, and the memories of those we miss in the most Isla Mujeres way possible. Life’s short, but the party doesn’t have to be!
